Technology Professional Development

  • February 4, 2009 and February 6, 2009 - I spoke with a contact from a middle school in the district. My principal recommended that I use this particular school as the site for delivering my professional development workshop. We decided that I would give a lesson on using PhotoStory in the classroom.
  • March - I have been trying to find my contact since the end of February. She has yet to respond to any of my emails. I am now in panic mode because I am not sure where I will be delivering this professional development. I spoke to another Teach For America contact and may have to do it as a Teach for America session. I am not sure what happened to my contact. One minute she was excited about me coming to present about PhotoStory and sharing how much she loves the program and the next minute I cannot find her at all. Oh well, something will work out!
  • April 30, 2009 - I delivered my professional development workshop. Only three teachers showed up. I learned a valuable lesson with this assignment: it is not easy to collaborate with teachers at the end of the year. This assignment shoul have been done first because at this point in the year teachers as well as administrators were a little less excited about this workshop than I hoped they would be. Nevertheless, three teachers participated and I will contact them during the last week of school to see if they actually were able to use the program.
